We’re thrilled to be at the University of York for Flourish 2026 – and our main venues are Central Hall and the Physics Exhibition Centre. The postcode for this campus is YO10 5DD.
Central Hall will hold our plenary sessions and is fully accessible via an outdoor lift.
The Physics Exhibition Centre has a huge flexible space as well as seminar rooms and lecture theatres meaning you will find the following in this space:
Alongside these two buildings, other rooms across the campus will be used for workshops during the Saturday afternoon.
The University of York boasts a beautiful lake and campus – so consider taking a walk around the lake during your visit!
Alongside these tickets the following are also available
Under 18 ticket = £10*
*This ticket does not give access to the Children and Youth activities. Tickets for the Children and Youth stream can be accessed here
**A family ticket is 2 adults and up to 3 people under 18 or 1 adult and up to 4 people under 18. This ticket does NOT include access to the children and youth stream.
In addition to your ticket, you can also purchase a Flourish Hoodie for an additional £28.
These Hoodies will only be purchasable by pre-order with your ticket so make sure you add it to your basket!
Note: Ticket prices are heavily subsidised by Yorkshire North & East Methodist District. Anyone for whom the cost is prohibitive should seek support from their church, circuit, or get in contact with us (in that order). Tickets allow you to attend any day or the whole weekend of Flourish – however, please note some workshops and parts of the programme will have limited space; the purchase of a ticket will not guarantee entry to these and you may be directed to an alternative session.
Please only buy tickets if you intend to come, as unfortunately no refunds are available.
To help Flourish be a success, we need a team of fab volunteers who are willing to work for slots of time throughout the weekend. Most of our volunteering roles will not limit your participating in the weekend. E.g. directing people to workshops and then going to the workshop of your choice, or sitting in a specific seat in the plenary sessions! We are hopeful that we will have enough volunteers for plenty of breaks and freedom to engage in the weekend as you want o.
Our team of volunteers will be supporting the following:
If you are interested in being a volunteer over the weekend, please get in touch with our Event Manager – Naomi Prince, to see the role description.
All Volunteers will get a free Flourish Ticket!
As a District aiming to be net zero by 2024, we would love to encourage you to think about this when sorting out your travel.
Please try and make the most of the good transport links or car share with others in your circuit as we try and do our bit in making this weekend as eco-friendly as possible.

Loop System
The loop system will be available in the following venues
In all of these rooms, hosts will be using microphones.
There will be some workshops in smaller seminar rooms which won’t be mic’d and the capacity of these rooms will be between 25-35.
Quiet Room
A quiet room will be available in the Cotton Lecture theatre during:
Due to workshops on the Saturday afternoon this room will be used.
The chaplaincy team will float in and out of this room and we hope there will be some self-led prayer resources in here. If you want to do something with your hands, you could head to the resident artist and grab a embroidery hoop to weave and bring it with you into this room.
There will also be prayer stations in the foyer of central hall.
Mobility Aids
The University of York is completely accessible, and other than a lift to access Central Hall, the venue is completely flat and accessible, making it perfect for wheelchairs, walkers and pushchairs.
In every lecture theatre there are seats at ground level.
Central Hall
At Central Hall there is a stage level wheelchair access platform, and further wheelchair/flat access spaces at the top of central hall.
For those who struggle with steps or use walkers or wheelchairs when entering central hall please make yourself known at the front desk. A steward will then accompany you in the lift and help you find an appropriate seat.
Young Families
Whilst children under school age aren’t provided for within the Children Stream, we want to make sure that young families feel welcome at Flourish.
In Central Hall, there will be a dedicated and safe area for young kids to play and engage with the session. Soft toys, cushions and books will be provided but families are encouraged to bring their own toys as well.
Lunch opens at 12 o’clock which means that if young kids can’t wait until the end of sessions at 12:30 they can get in early. And dinner opens at 5pm
Kairos are also hosting a multi-sensory end of day prayer at 4:30pm. This means if families have to leave early they can share in prayer with others and round the day off nicely.
Tea and Coffee
There will be 2 café outlets open specifically for Flourish attendees, one in the market place and one in the Roger Kirk Centre.
They will be serving local coffee (it is currently York Emporium) with some sandwiches and cakes also available.
The Library Café is also open at weekends and is about a 5-1o minute walk away from Central Hall and the Physics Exhibition centre.
Meals
The University of York is a short bus ride or walk (30min) from York City Centre where there are ample restaurants (both independent and chain). There are also pubs and restaurants along Hull Road and in Heslington and Fulford.
However, to help ensure that every has time to eat and isn’t overwhelmed by the thought of travelling into the city, there will be at least 2 catering halls open for the following meals
They will serve a variety of food with 2 vegetarian and 1 meat option at each meal. The average cost of a meal here will be around £10.
They will cater for all dietary requirements as it is, but if there are any serious allergies or you would like reassurance that you will be catered for please email admin@yorkshirenemethodist.org
